Reveal For Eight-Story, 200-Bed Nursing Home Proposed At 141 Conover Street, Red Hook

Over the summer, news broke of Oxford Nursing Home’s planned eight-story, 200-bed nursing home at 141 Conover Street, in Red Hook. Now, DNAinfo has a rendering of the project, which will measure 157,500 square feet in total. The new building will include an urgent care center available to the community. The project must first pass ULURP, and with public meetings now kicking off, construction is expected to begin in late 2016. A number of small warehouse structures will have to be demolished.

990-Foot-Long S.S. United States Could Be Turned Into Office & Entertainment Complex, Red Hook

John Quadrozzi Jr., owner of the Gowanus Bay Terminal, at 699 Columbia Street in Red Hook, is proposing to sail the deteriorating 990-foot-long S.S. United States to his dock and transform the ship into office space and entertainment facilities, according to The Brooklyn Paper. The vessel has 12 decks and roughly 500,000 square feet of usable floor space, and would be self-sustaining, energy-wise, using solar, wind, and waste energy. The project could cost as much as $200 million, and Quadrozzi is currently in discussions with developers, investors, and government officials.

Four-Story, Three-Unit Mixed-Use Project Coming To 28 Huntington Street, Red Hook

Property owner Jimmy Mizrahi, operating under an LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, three-unit mixed-use building at 28 Huntington Street, in Red Hook, located five blocks west of the Smith – 9th Streets stop on the F and G trains. The building will measure 5,934 square feet, and 2,253 square feet of community facility space will span the ground floor and a portion of the cellar. In the second through forth floors, full-floor units will average 1,227 square feet apiece. Mohammad Baalbaki’s Staten Island-based Baalbaki & Assocoates Engineering is the applicant of record.

In October 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of a multi-block, nearly 1.2-million square-foot office complex at 68 Ferris Street, in Red Hook, and since then, the Milan, Italy-based developer Est4te Four has been assembling the properties for the development. Now, Cushman & Wakefield has been tasked to market a 49% stake in the project, according to Crain’s.
