Construction is complete and occupancy has begun at 11-12 44th Drive, a residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Our last update on the 80-foot-tall project was in April 2018, when Carbn NYC first debuted renderings. Designed by Zproekt and developed by Rybak Development, the structure contains 49 residential units averaging 936 square feet apiece.
Exterior work is finishing up on the Cove, an 18-story residential building at 43-12 Hunter Street in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Rockrose Development, the project will yield 123 rental apartments designed by Slade Architecture. Thirty-seven, or roughly 30 percent of the units, will be designated for affordable housing.
Construction activity has yet to begin at 27-01 Jackson Avenue, the site of a planned 27-story building in Hunters Point, Queens. Fetner Properties under American Lion, LLC is the owner behind the permit applications for the proposed 336-foot-tall mixed-use project, for which SLCE Architects is listed as the architect of record. The property is located at the corner of Jackson Avenue and 43rd Avenue.
Permits have been filed for a four-story monastery at 54-17 90th Street in Elmhurst, Queens. Located at the intersection of 90th Street and 55th Avenue, the corner lot is closest to the Grand Avenue – Newtown subway station, serviced by the E, M, and R trains. The Roman Catholic Congregation of St John The Baptist of China is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Foundation work looks to be complete at 23-20 Jackson Avenue, the site of a nine-story mixed-use hotel in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by KSQ Architects and developed by The Vorea Group, the corner property will yield a grand total of 85,851 square feet, which will be divided into retail, offices, and a 72-room hotel operated by San Francisco-based hotelier Sonder Corp.
