Twin Two-Story, Two-Family Houses Coming To 43-12 Parsons Boulevard, East Flushing

Flushing-based property owner Frank Cerrone has filed applications for two two-story, two-family houses at 43-10 – 43-12 Parsons Boulevard, in East Flushing, located eight blocks from the Long Island Rail Road’s Murray Hill station. The buildings will measure 3,480 and 3,585 square feet each, respective to the order they are listed above. Across both buildings, there will be 4,402 square feet of residential space, which means the project’s full-floor units should average 1,100 square feet apiece. Whitestone-based Platonic Solids Architecture is the architect of record. The site, which was subdivided into two lots in February, is currently occupied by a two-story, single-family house. Permits were filed to demolish it in January.


40-38 191st Street

Twin Two-Family Residential Buildings Coming To 40-38 191st Street, Auburndale

Peter Pavlou, head of Whitestone-based Pavlou Realty Inc., has filed applications for twin two-family homes at 40-36 – 40-38 191st Street, in Auburndale, located two blocks away from the neighborhood’s Long Island Rail Road station. Each structure will rise two stories and measure 2,359 square feet, and each full-floor unit should average 1,180 square feet. Belal Salim’s Whitestone-based Platonic Solids Architecture is the architect of record. An existing two-story house was filed for demolition back in November.

Back in 2009, photographer Nathan Kensinger visited a neighborhood along the Brooklyn-Queens border that locals call “The Hole.” The small, neglected triangle between East New York, Howard Beach, and Lindenwood sits 30 feet below grade and only a few feet above the water table, and its abandoned development sites became reputed dumping grounds for Mafia hitmen. But new development is finally is finally coming to the area just south of The Hole. A new building application was filed to erect a four-story apartment building at 149-27 78th Street, on a large collection of vacant lots bordered by Loring Avenue, 78th (or Sapphire) Street, 79th Street and Stanley Avenue.

Whitestone-based Zankera Construction Inc. has filed applications for 10 three-story, multi-family residential buildings spanning 149-21 – 149-39 78th Street, in Lindenwood, directly east of Brooklyn’s Cypress Hills. The development will total 30 residential units — three per building — across 35,690 square feet of space, making for spacious average units of 1,190 square feet. Platonic Solids Architecture is designing, and the swath of land is currently vacant.

Three-Story, Six-Family Residential Project Filed At 89-15 129th Street, Richmond Hill

Little Neck-based Roni Contracting Corp. has filed applications for a three-story, six-unit residential building at 89-15 129th Street, in eastern Richmond Hill, located six blocks from the J/Z subway’s stop at 121st Street. The building will measure a total 5,343 square feet, for an average unit of 890 square feet. Belal Salim’s Platonic Solids Architecture is designing, and an existing two-story, two-unit structure must first be demolished.
