Permits have been filed for a 29-story hotel at 58 West 39th Street, in Midtown, Manhattan. The site is just a block away from Bryant Park, in the heart of the city. Times Square is just an avenue west, with Grand Central two avenues to the east. Wei Hong Hu of H Hotel LLC is listed as responsible for the development.
Construction is now 10 stories above street level on the 33-story, 271-key AC Hotel, a Marriott brand, under development at 151 Maiden Lane, located on the corner of Front Street in the Financial District. The progress can be seen thanks to a photo posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the structure will measure 139,891 square feet and stand 336 feet to its pinnacle at the top of the bulkhead. Retail space will occupy some of the ground floor and hotel rooms will be located on the third through 30th floors. LCRE Group is the developer and Pizzarotti-IBC is building the project. Peter F. Poon’s SoHo-based architecture firm is the architect. Completion is expected in the summer of 2017.
Two-and a-half years ago, YIMBY revealed renderings for a 28-story hotel at 50 Trinity Place in the Financial District. Now we have fresh images of the development, which is going to be an Aloft Hotel.
At the intersection of the Financial District and the beginnings of South Street Seaport lies Maiden Lane, which is rapidly transforming into a continuation of the high-rise corridor to the south. On one particular corner, at the intersection with Front Street, two buildings are now rising. Thanks to YIMBY Forumer Rich Brome we have photos of the new hotel coming to 151 Maiden Lane, which is already several floors above street level, as well as the residential tower rising at One Seaport, climbing next door at a slightly slower pace.
Peter Poon Architects have designed nearly two dozen hotels across the city, and now another one of their glassy structures is coming to the area near Penn Station. Mayflower Business Group has filed new building applications for a 24-story hotel at 319 West 35th Street, between Eighth and Ninth avenues.
