Gotham Organization, in collaboration with Monadnock Development, the Christian Cultural Center, and New York City and State authorities, has secured $270 million in construction financing for the first phase of the Innovative Urban Village in East New York, Brooklyn. Domino Sugar Refinery Prepares for Office Conversion at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Construction work is ramping up for the office conversion of the 140-year-old Domino Sugar Refinery at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU) and developed by Two Trees, the project is the centerpiece of the Domino Sugar master plan by SHoP Architects and James Corner Field Operations and involves the construction of a massive barrel-vaulted glass roof atop the former factory. When complete, the structure will top out at 235 feet tall, while the interiors will be gutted and restored. Levels one through four, as well as 14 and 15 will have their ceiling spans increased, and the 16th floor will be eliminated.

Domino Park Nears Public Debut As Crane Rises for COOKFOX-Designed 260 Kent Avenue

In less than eight weeks, the Domino Sugar Factory’s  redevelopment is expected to open up six acres of landscaped public space on 1,200 feet of the Williamsburg waterfront. Two Trees Management is developing the land, immediately north of the Williamsburg Bridge. The master plan includes square-arch motifs in three of the four new buildings, indicative of this project’s relationship with the bridge as the gateway to North Brooklyn. The public space has been designed by James Corner Field Operations, who also designed the new High Line Park.
