New Renderings Revealed For One Grand At 76 Varick Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for One Grand, a 28-story mixed-use building at 76 Varick Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by Taconic Investment Partners and Nuveen Real Estate, the 430,763-square-foot structure will yield offices, a public grade school, and retail space. Trinity Real Estate is the owner of the vacant lot, which is alternately addressed as Two Hudson Square and bound by Grand Street to the north, Canal Street to the south, Varick Street to the west, and Sullivan Street, Duarte Square, and Sixth Avenue to the east.

Work is taking shape at 309 East 94th Street, the future site of an eight-story 200,000-square foot life sciences facility on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins + Will and developed by Elevate Research Properties, the life sciences subsidiary of Taconic Partners, Nuveen Real Estate and Flatiron Equities, the building is going to be expanded, recladded, and fully renovated. The project will be called the Iron Horse Labs, named after New York Yankees legend Lou “Iron Horse” Gehrig who was born at the same address. 309 East 94th Street Property Owner LLC is listed as the owner and JRM Construction Management is the general contractor for the property, which is situated on a large interior lot between First and Second Avenues.

Elevate Research Properties, the life sciences subsidiary of Taconic Partners, has revealed plans to construct a 200,000-square-foot life sciences project at 309 East 94th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The building will debut as Iron Horse Labs, named after New York Yankees legend Lou “Iron Horse” Gehrig who was born at the same address.

Designed by Taconic Partners, Jaros, Baum & Bolles (JB&B), and Perkins+Will and developed by Taconic and Nuveen Real Estate, the project involves the full re-cladding of the structure’s exterior and conversion of its 400,000 square feet of interiors into a life sciences and research laboratory. CBRE is leading marketing and leasing and JRM Construction Management is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of West 66th Street and West End Avenue, a short walk from Riverside Park South.

New renderings from Architecture Plus Information reveal lush amenity spaces and exterior enhancements at 780 Third Avenue, a 50-story office tower in Midtown East, Manhattan. Nuveen Real Estate, the current owner of the building, has invested roughly $40 million to create what it calls a “green oasis” for new and existing tenants.

Façade work is nearing completion on 125 West End Avenue, an eight-story building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Taconic Partners, Jaros, Baum & Bolles (JB&B), and Perkins+Will, the project involves the re-cladding and interior renovation of the 400,000-square-foot structure into a life sciences and research laboratory. The 3.4-acre complex was originally constructed as an automotive facility for the Chrysler Motor Company and was later occupied by Walt Disney/ABC broadcasting company, but had sat vacant since early 2021. Taconic and Nuveen Real Estate purchased the building for $230 million in late 2019, and CBRE is in charge of marketing and leasing the commercial space. JRM Construction Management, LLC is the general contractor for the project, which sits at the corner of West 66th Street and West End Avenue, a very short walk from Riverside Park South.

Designed by Taconic Partners and Perkins+Will, the project involves interior renovations and the installation of a glass curtain wall. 125 West End Avenue was home to the Walt Disney/ABC broadcasting company since 1985, but had sat vacant since January. The structure was originally built as an automotive facility by Chrysler Motor Company and at one point was owned by the New York Times. Taconic and Nuveen Real Estate paid $230 million for the property in late 2019. Construction continues to advance at 125 West End Avenue, a conversion of an eight-story building into a 400,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art life sciences and research laboratory on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Perkins+Will and developed by Taconic Partners, Nuveen Real Estate, and LaSalle Investment Management, the project will be the largest life science development in NYC since the Alexandria Center at 430 East 29th Street, and will help meet the growing demand for occupancy-ready, pre-built lab space in the city. JB&B is leading engineering, JRM Construction is managing construction, and CBRE is handling leasing. The property is located on the west side of the avenue between West 65th and 66th Streets.
