Excavation work is well underway at the site of a planned 59-story, 458-unit mixed-use tower under development at 138 Willoughby Street, located on the corner of Flatbush Avenue Extension in Downtown Brooklyn. A photo reveals multiple excavators active on site, as well as footings for the foundation. The latest building permits have the project measuring 686,830 square feet and rising 696 feet to its parapet.

Excavation Imminent for 17-Story, 39-Unit Residential Project at 269 West 87th Street, Upper West Side

Excavation work is imminent at 269 West 87th Street, on the Upper West Side, where a 17-story, 39-unit residential building called The Chamberlain is under development. Photos reveal two excavators and a pile driver, among other materials, currently staged at the property. The latest building permits indicate the project will encompass 115,884 square feet and rise 215 feet to the top of its mechanical bulkhead.

Multi-Building, 179-Unit Residential Project Proposed Along North MacQuesten Parkway, Mount Vernon, N.Y.

Westchester County-based Enclave Equities is planning to develop a total of five residential buildings with a combined 179 apartments along North MacQuesten Parkway, between Berg and West Grand streets in Mount Vernon’s Fleetwood neighborhood. Two five-story buildings will be located at 645 North MacQuesten Parkway, the Business Journal reported, while three buildings—two five-story structures and a single four-story one—will be located at 525 North MacQuesten Parkway. The apartments will range from 600-square-foot one-bedrooms to 800-square-foot two-bedrooms.

A Queens-based property owner has filed applications for a four-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 91 Port Richmond Avenue, located on the corner of Ann Street in Elm Park, a neighborhood on Staten Island’s North Shore. The project will measure 6,291 square feet, featuring 1,580 square feet of ground-floor retail space, followed by six residential units across the second through fourth floors. The apartments should average 785 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Century Consulting Corporation is the applicant of record. The 1,900-square-foot lot is occupied by a single-story commercial building. Demolition permits have not been filed.
