Permits have been filed for a 14-story, affordable housing apartment building at 302 East 2nd Street in East Village, Manhattan. Located between Avenue C and Avenue D, the vacant lot is just off major thoroughfare East Houston Street. The Delancey Street subway station, serviced by the F train, is ten city blocks away. New York City’s Housing Preservation and Development agency is responsible for the applications.
Permits have been filed for a six-story apartment building at 32 Rutgers Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Located between Henry Street and Madison Street, the interior lot is two blocks south of the East Broadway subway station, serviced by the F train. Qiliang Chen of Soho Property LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
A record-shattering $238 million purchase of a Manhattan penthouse at 220 Central Park South came at the hands of billionaire and Citadel hedge fund founder Ken Griffin. The sale of the 24,000 square foot apartment makes it the highest-priced home ever sold in the United States. The four-story residence is part of a 66-floor near-supertall development by Vornado Realty Trust, and has 16 bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, five balconies, and a terrace facing Central Park.
15 Hudson Yards is a 910-foot tall structure, and the first residential skyscraper to be completed in the massive $25 billion Hudson Yards complex developed by Related Companies. With LEED Gold status, the new 88-story glass tower spans 960,000 square feet, and was designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with the Rockwell Group. Ismael Leyva Architects served as the architect of record. David Rockwell recently led an exclusive tour, showcasing the building’s 40,000 square feet of amenity spaces on its 50th and 51st floors, followed by a question and answer session with architect Elizabeth Diller.
The second tower at Greenpoint Landing is on its way to topping off sometime this spring. Addressed at 41 Blue Slip, the building will imminently stand 40 stories atop Greenpoint, on Brooklyn’s East River waterfront. The project is being designed by Handel Architects and developed by both Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group. L+M Development Partners is the third developer of Greenpoint Landing, but is not involved with this particular skyscraper. The site is located just off of Commercial Street behind 5 Blue Slip, and sits about a quarter mile to the north of The Greenpoint, aka 21 India Street.
