Construction is above street level at 221 West Street, a pair of 30- and 40-story residential towers in the Greenpoint Landing development in GreenpointBrooklyn. Known as “Greenpoint Block D,” this phase of the the 22-acre riverfront master plan is designed by OMA and is being developed by Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group, which broke ground on the site back in November 2019. Beyer Blinder Belle is the architect of record for the planned 350- and 451 -foot tall towers.

Exterior work is wrapping up on 200 Kent Avenue, a six-story mixed-use building in WilliamsburgBrooklyn. Designed by ME Architect P.C., the 125,000-square-foot development stands 83 feet tall and is being developed by Cornell Realty Management, which purchased the full-block parcel for $33 million with two anonymous entities nearly four years ago. The site is bound by Kent Avenue to the east, Metropolitan Avenue to the south, River Street to the west, and North 3rd Street to the north.

One Vanderbilt’s Spire Reinstalled Atop Midtown East

Last week, the top half of One Vanderbilt‘s 100-foot-tall architectural spire was finally replaced at the pinnacle of the 77-story Midtown East supertall. The spire was first put in place when the 1,401-foot-tall skyscraper topped out on September 18, 2019, but was disassembled in mid-December to make it easier for the construction crane to swing about. The reinstallation marks a major construction milestone for the Kohn Pedersen Fox-designed office tower, which is getting close to completion.

Designed by Brooklyn-based design firm PAUL and developed by Kazi Billah, the reinforced concrete superstructure rises 65 feet tall and yields 26,070 square feet. The property includes 5,790 square feet of ground-floor retail space, 5,790 square feet of medical offices on the second floor, a 12-car garage on the third floor, and 24 residential units from the fourth to sixth floors.
