Construction Resumes on Extell’s 50 West 66th Street Skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Construction has resumed on 50 West 66th Street, a 69-story, 775-foot-tall residential skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Snøhetta and developed by Extell Development Company, the tower will yield 127 condominium units and claim the title of the tallest building north of 59th Street. YIMBY last reported that global investment entity Tennor Holding B.V. will help complete the edifice, which is being built on a plot located between Central Park West to the east, the intersection of Broadway and Columbus Avenue to the west, West 65th Street to the south, and West 66th Street to the north.

Construction is complete on 425 Grand Concourse, a 26-story mixed-use building in Mott Haven, The Bronx and one of the largest Passive House structures in the city. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Trinity Financial and MBD Community Housing Corporation, the 310,000-square-foot project yields 277 residential units, with 248 units for residents earning 30 to 130 percent of the area median income, as well as a supermarket, a community health center, a cultural center, and a 30,000-square-foot educational facility for CUNY’s Hostos Community College. Monadnock Construction served as the general contractor for the development, which is located between Grand Concourse to the east, East 144th Street to the south, Walton Avenue to the west, and Evelina Antonetty Playground and Hostos Community College to the immediate north.

Demolition is complete and below-grade work has commenced at 1 Park Row, site of a 23-story mixed-use building in the Financial District. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by Circle F Capital, which received a $90 million construction loan from Los Angeles-based Parkview Financial last summer, the 103,000-square-foot structure will yield 58 condominiums in one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations, along with 19,000 square feet of commercial office and retail space on the lower levels. MJM Associates Construction is the general contractor and 1 Park Row Development LLC is the owner of the property, which sits at the intersection of Park Row and Ann Street. Ancora Engineering is in charge of the support of excavation (S.O.E.) and foundations.
