Developer Acquires Air Rights For Planned Hotel At 450 11th Avenue, Hudson Yards District

Marx Development Group has acquired 35,550 square feet of transferable development rights for $7 million as they prepare to build a 39-story and 438-key hotel at 450 11th Avenue, in Midtown West. According to Commercial Observer, the building will measure 213,300 square feet, although plans have yet to be filed with the DOB. Multiple single-story commercial buildings must first be demolished, and ground breaking is planned in 2016.

Work Wraps Up On 11-Story, 182-Unit Rental Building At 22-22 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City

Jeffrey Gershon’s 11-story, 182-unit rental building at 22-22 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City, quickly went up over the past year, having reached its half-way point in December, and then topping out in April. Today, the finishing touches are being applied to the structure’s exterior, and glass installation is nearly complete, according to The Court Square Blog. ODA Architecture is designing, and the ground floor will feature 5,585 square feet of retail space. Completion is expected by the end of this year.

The squat two-story commercial building that once filled the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Fulton Street has been completely demolished. Back in April, the Post reported that Slate Property Group and and Meadow Partners closed on the purchase of the site at 1 Flatbush Avenue for a record-breaking $59 million, and it looks like work is moving right along.

Five-Story Mixed-Use Building Planned At 140 Stanhope Street, Bushwick

Property owner Mendel Gold has filed applications for a five-story, nine-unit mixed-use building at 140 Stanhope Street, in central Bushwick, two blocks before the M train’s Knickerbocker Avenue stop. The building will measure a total 10,720 square feet, and will feature nearly 2,100 square feet of retail and 425 square feet of community space on the ground floor. Units will average 850 square feet. Dutchess County-based Aryeh Siegel is the architect of record, and an existing two-story, single-family structure must first be demolished.
