Five-Story, 30-Unit Residential Building Proposed at 23 Cornelison Avenue, Jersey City

Secaucus, N.J.-based Tovaste Management has been selected to propose development plans at 23 Cornelison Avenue, a vacant, city-owned plot located in Jersey City’s Bergen Hill section. The Jersey City Redevelopment Agency (JCRA) selected the developer in January, Jersey Digs reported. Tovaste is currently proposing a five-story, 30-unit residential project that would include 21 off-street parking spaces. The developer has roughly three more months to complete negotiations with the JCRA.


115 Chestnut Street

Residential Development Site at 115 Chestnut Street Placed on Market, Newark, N.J.

Property owner Chestnut Global Enterprises has placed the development site at 115 Chestnut Street, located on the corner of Hermon Street in Newark’s Ironbound district, on the market for $3.96 million, Jersey Digs reported. Plans for a five-story, 72-unit residential building, called Vesey Street Commons, are fully approved. The apartments would range from one- to two-bedrooms, if a new developer were to follow the latest permits. The 28,988-square-foot plot is currently vacant. Until roughly a decade ago, it was occupied by an industrial building utilized by the Wilson Imperial Company.


118 Green Street

Five-Story, 64-Unit Mixed-Use Redevelopment Underway at 118 Green Street, Newark, N.J.

Construction is currently underway to redevelop the dilapidated four-story industrial property at 118-126 Green Street, on the corner of New Jersey Railroad Avenue in Newark’s Ironbound district, into a five-story structure with 64 residential units. The project, dubbed Textile Lofts, will also feature ground-floor commercial-retail space and a laundromat, Jersey Digs reported. The apartments will range from one- to two-bedrooms. Roseland, N.J.-based J&L Companies and an anonymous LLC are the developers. Bergen County, N.J.-based Inglese Architecture + Engineering is the architect. A construction timeline has not been revealed.


1558 John F. Kennedy Boulevard

Five-Story, 68-Unit Mixed-Use Building Planned at 1558 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City

A five-story, 68-unit mixed-use building is planned at 1558 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, located between Custer and Gates avenues in the Greenville section of southern Jersey City. The project will feature commercial-retail space on the ground floor, as well as a 79-car parking garage, Jersey Digs reported. Jersey City-based Myneni Towers LLC is the developer. Plans were approved by the Jersey City Planning Board and the Hudson County Planning Board in 2016. The 29,000-square-foot site is vacant. A construction timeline has not been disclosed.


144 Bergen Avenue

Five-Story, 24-Unit Residential Project Planned at 144 Bergen Avenue, Jersey City

Essex County, N.J.-based LN Signature Realty is planning a five-story, 24-unit residential building at 144 Bergen Avenue, located in the Greenville section of southern Jersey City. The project will include 19 parking spaces, Jersey Digs reported. The city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment granted multiple variances for the project in 2016, one of which allowed for more apartments to be built than allowed under current regulations. The site is currently vacant. A construction timeline has not been revealed.
