New Jersey-based real estate investment firm BDP Holdings, in partnership with JLL, has unveiled plans for The Iris, a forthcoming commercial building at 641 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey. Designed by Gensler, the 130,000-square-foot structure will yield 125,000 square feet of office space on the top three floors, along with 8,051 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 277 parking spaces.
Construction has topped out on Halo 1, the shortest structure in a three-tower skyscraper development at 289-301 Washington Street in Newark, New Jersey. Designed by INOA Architecture and developed by Acier Holdings, the project will feature 42-, 52, and 53-story volumes standing between 454 and 573 feet tall, which will earn it the distinction of the tallest building in Newark. When complete, the development will yield 1,075 total apartments in a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, as well as a suite of amenities and a 343-vehicle parking garage. The property is located along Washington Street between Branford Place and William Street, on the southwestern edge of the city’s downtown.
SJP Properties and Scotto Properties celebrated the topping out of M Station West, a seven-story commercial building in Morristown, New Jersey. Designed by Gensler, the structure will add 260,000 square feet to the M Station complex, joining the six-story, 120,000-square-foot M Station East, which was completed in July 2022. The developers are aiming for LEED certification.
The Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey have unveiled the organization’s third “DreamLab,” a space designed to educate and inspire young girls. Located in The Shoppes At North Brunswick, the space has classrooms for STEM-related education, training spaces for the performing arts, a bouldering wall, video and podcast recoding booths, an indoor camping area, and flexible spaces for large gatherings.
New Jersey developer Milton Fantin has revealed new interior renderings for Overlook Flats, a new mixed-use property in Jersey City. Located at 32 Oakland Avenue, the building is designed by Michels & Waldron Associates and comprises more than 58,000 square feet of office space, 297 rental units, tenant amenity spaces, and an 181-vehicle fully automated parking garage.
