Six-Story, 44-Unit Mixed-Use Project Rises Above Street Level At 27-05 41st Avenue, Long Island City

Construction is now two stories above ground level on the six-story, 44-unit mixed-use project under development at 27-05 41st Avenue, located on the corner of 27th Street in the Queens Plaza section of Long Island City. The structure can be seen in an update by The Court Square Blog. The latest building permits indicate the building will measure 50,530 square feet and rise 60 feet in height, not including the bulkhead.

Elmhurst is quickly becoming Queens’ second Chinatown after Flushing, and development has followed on the heels of the neighborhood’s booming Asian immigrant population. The latest example comes from 51-20 Van Loon Street, at the corner of Queens Boulevard.

Construction Wraps On Six-Story, 102-Unit Mixed-Use Building At 5 Blue Slip, Greenpoint

Construction has topped out and is quickly wrapping up on the six-story, 102-unit mixed-use building under development at 5 Blue Slip as part of the Greenpoint Landing mega-development, in northern Greenpoint. All of the building’s apartments will rent at below-market rates through the affordable housing lottery; applications for them have just launched.

165-Unit Mixed-Use Project To Have Larger Grocery Store, Deeper Affordability, 120 Fifth Avenue, Park Slope

After months of negotiations with the community, developer Avery Hall Investments has agreed to amendments to its two-building, mixed-use development planned at 120 Fifth Avenue, located on the corner of Baltic Street in Park Slope. When the plans were initially presented in February, YIMBY reported that the 196,000-square-foot project would include 165 residential units and 52,000 square feet of retail. Twenty-five percent, or 41 units, would rent at below-market rates through a lottery and 7,500 square feet of the retail space would be designated for a grocery store.

13-Story, 19-Unit Mixed-Use Building Tops Out At 207 West 79th Street, Upper West Side

The 13-story, 19-unit mixed-use building under construction at 207 West 79th Street, on the Upper West Side, has topped out. Photos of the structure can be seen posted to the YIMBY Forums. The structure measures 71,578 square feet and rises 139 feet to its roof, or 158 feet including the bulkhead. Retail space will total 5,194 square feet on the ground floor, and the residential units, which will be condominiums, above should average 2,887 square feet apiece. Anbau Enterprises is the developer and Morris Adjmi Architects is responsible for the architecture. Completion is expected in the fall of 2017.

114-Unit Rental Tops Out at 1511 Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights

Back in July, the 10-story rental building under construction at 1511 Bedford Avenue in western Crown Heights had only reached six stories. Now Tectonic brings us the latest on the project, which has topped out on the northeastern corner of Lincoln Place and Bedford.

Unknown Buyer In Contact For Mixed-Use Development Site At 69 Adams Street, DUMBO

The Jehovah’s Witnesses has selected a buyer for its four-story recreational building at 69 Adams Street, located on the corner of Front Street in DUMBO. Neither the buyer nor the price of the sale have been disclosed, but it’s expected to close before 2017, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported. The 17,490-square-foot site can accommodate up to 157,410 square feet of mixed-use development, in the form of residential, commercial, and/or community facility space. Plans for the site have not been disclosed.

Eight-Story, Seven-Unit Mixed-Use Project Rises To Top Floor At 210 Bowery, NoLIta

Construction is underway on the top floor of the eight-story, seven-unit mixed-use redevelopment project at 210 Bowery, in Nolita. The site’s existing four-story commercial building is receiving four more floors, or an additional 6,600 square feet of space, as seen in an update by Bowery Boogie.

Landmarks Preservation Commission Calendars Designation of Waldorf Astoria Hotel Interiors

In June, YIMBY reported that major changes are ahead for the Waldorf Astoria New York hotel. Thanks to a move on Tuesday, there are unlikely to be too many changes that mar its historic design. The Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to calendar portions of the Art Deco skyscraper’s interior.
