The Department of Buildings recently approved plans for Bethany Terraces, a four-story affordable senior housing development at 604 East 40th Street in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Developed by RiseBoro Community Partnership, which will operate the facility, and designed by Paul A. Castrucci Architects, the 39,200-square-foot project will be built to Passive House Standards.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 1763 Coney Island Avenue in Midwood, Brooklyn. Located between Avenue N and Avenue O, the interior lot is five blocks west of the Avenue M subway station, serviced by the Q train. Eddie Yair under 1775 Coney Island LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Trader Joe’s will soon open a new grocery store in Harlem, the chain’s first location in Upper Manhattan. The store will occupy 28,000 square feet of ground-floor space of the forthcoming Urban League Empowerment Center at 121 West 125th Street.

Located between South 10th Street and Division Street, the lot is steps from the South Williamsburg stop on the East River Ferry.
