Final Touches Underway For 5Pointz-Replacing 22-44 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City

The two-tower 5Pointz complex is in the final stages of construction at 22-44 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by HTO Architects and developed by G&M Realty, the 1.21-million-square-foot development stands on the site of the former 5Pointz warehouse, which was a mecca for graffiti and street art. Mojo Stumer Associates designed the buildings’ interiors, which will feature artistic homages to the site’s cultural past.

Updated Design Revealed for Commercial Expansion at 44-54 Ninth Avenue in the Meatpacking District

BKSK Architects will again appear before the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) seeking approvals to construct a sizable commercial expansion and restoration in Manhattan’s Gansevoort Historic District, also known as the Meatpacking District. The historic row townhomes carry an address of 44-54 Ninth Avenue and 351-355 West 14th Street at the corner of 14th Street and Ninth Avenue.

11-12 44th Drive Stands Completed in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is complete and occupancy has begun at 11-12 44th Drive, a residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Our last update on the 80-foot-tall project was in April 2018, when Carbn NYC first debuted renderings. Designed by Zproekt and developed by Rybak Development, the structure contains 49 residential units averaging 936 square feet apiece.

The Cove’s Exterior Reaches Completion at 43-12 Hunter Street in Long Island City, Queens

Exterior work is finishing up on the Cove, an 18-story residential building at 43-12 Hunter Street in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Rockrose Development, the project will yield 123 rental apartments designed by Slade Architecture. Thirty-seven, or roughly 30 percent of the units, will be designated for affordable housing.

Permits Filed for 125 Kings Highway in Gravesend, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 125 Kings Highway in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of Kings Highway and Stillwell Avenue, the corner lot is a 10-minute walk east to the Kings Highway subway station, serviced by the N train. Joseph Brunner under the 125 Kings LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 82nd 4th Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Located between St. Marks Street and Bergen Street, the interior lot is two blocks south of the Atlantic Avenue-Barclay Center subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, and R trains. Abraham Posner under the Boerum Hill 82 LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Renderings Reveal National Urban League’s New Harlem Location at 121 West 125th Street

National Urban League is moving to 121 West 125th Street on Harlem‘s main corridor as part of a massive $242 million development. The historic civil rights organization is leaving its Financial District location for a 21,500-square-foot plot between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Lenox Avenue. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by BRP Companies, Dabar Development, L+M Development Partners, Taconic Partners and Prusik Group, the mixed-use project will yield a total of 414,000 square feet and rise 17 stories. Additional components include 170 affordable housing units, 70,000-square-feet of Class A office space, and 110,000 square feet of retail.

Foundation Work Wraps Up at 23-20 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Foundation work looks to be complete at 23-20 Jackson Avenue, the site of a nine-story mixed-use hotel in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by KSQ Architects and developed by The Vorea Group, the corner property will yield a grand total of 85,851 square feet, which will be divided into retail, offices, and a 72-room hotel operated by San Francisco-based hotelier Sonder Corp.

Demolition Prep Underway for 544-Foot-Tall Skyscraper at 45-03 23rd Street in Hunters Point, Queens

Demolition preparations are underway at 45-03 23rd Street in Hunters Point, Queens, the site of a 544-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Capital under the Court Square 45th Avenue LLC, the 50-story tower will contain condominiums as well as commercial and community space.

FXCollaborative Revises Proposals for 130 Saint Felix Tower in Fort Greene, Brooklyn

FXCollaborative has updated design proposals for a new residential tower and partial expansion of the historic Brooklyn Music School in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Located at 130 Saint Felix Street, the most notable changes in the architect’s proposals include a new structural height of 265 feet, down from 285 feet, and a series of setback terrace levels toward the top of the building. The proposal was approved at a Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) meeting on August 4th.
