601 Baltic Street Tops Out in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Construction is progressing on 601 Baltic Street, a topped-out ten-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Orlando Diaz of Form4 Design Studio and developed by Yiannes Einhorn of Einhorn Development Group, the 30,018-square-foot structure will yield 25 condominium units spread across 22,659 square feet as well as 1,654 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Built By Grid is the general contractor and King Contracting Group in charge of the brick and CMU work for the property, which is located at the corner of Baltic Street and Fourth Avenue.

Work Continues on Mandarin Oriental Residences Fifth Avenue at 685 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

Work is continuing to progress on the Mandarin Oriental Residences Fifth Avenue, a 29-story building at 685 Fifth Avenue in Midtown and the first east coast residential-only property from the prestigious hotel brand. Designed by Marin Architects and developed by SHVO in partnership with Deutsche Finance, the $135 million project involves the construction of a ten-floor addition above a former commercial structure and the conversion of 100,000 square feet of office space, creating a total of 69 fully furnished turnkey condominium residences managed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and marketed by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing. The Rinaldi Group of New York is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 53rd and East 54th Streets. The Fifth Avenue retail frontage is marketed by Brookfield Properties.

Designed by Fariba Makooi of Fischer + Makooi Architects and developed by The Rabsky Group, the 280-foot-tall structure will yield 258,200 square feet with 225 units ranging from studios to two-bedroom layouts as well as 102,078 square feet of ground-floor retail space with 60 feet of frontage, a 25-foot-long rear yard, and 61 parking spaces. Galaxy Developers is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Front Street to the north, Adams Street to the west, York Street to the south, and the elevated Manhattan Bridge roadway to the immediate east.
