Four Single-Family Homes Coming To 262-268 Grimsby Street, Midland Beach, Staten Island

Frank Barbarino, head of Toscana Builders Inc., has filed applications for four three-story, single-family houses at 262-268 Grimsby Street, in Midland Beach, on Staten Island’s southern shore. Each home will measure 1,180 square feet in total, and Staten Island-based Stanley Krebushevski is the architect of record. Demolition permits were recently filed to raze three existing homes at 264-268 Grimsby Street.

Designing a Resilient Home in Staten Island After Hurricane Sandy

When a storm surge slammed into Aimann Youssef’s house on Midland Avenue in Staten Island during Hurricane Sandy, he was devastated. Nearly three years later, the 45-year-old Syrian immigrant is taking steps to rebuild his house at 481 Midland Avenue, even if he can barely afford it. Tribeca-based AB Architekten, headed by Alex Blakely, created a simple, modern design for the two-family home.

Four Semi-Detached Townhouses Planned At 443 Lincoln Avenue, Midland Beach, Staten Island

A Staten Island-based LLC has filed applications for a semi-detached, four-unit residential development at 443 Lincoln Avenue, in Midland Beach, on Staten Island’s southern shore. Each two-story townhouse will measure 1,200 square feet, and Frank Martarella’s Think Design Architecture is designing. The site isn’t very accessible, located 10 blocks from SIRR’s Grand City stop. Demolition commenced on the existing single-story home in June.
