Updated Renderings Revealed for Calyer Place Residential Tower in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

In an exclusive reveal, YIMBY is pleased to share new renderings of the first tower to debut at Calyer Place, a forthcoming residential complex in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The tower at 65 Private Drive will stand 40 stories above the waterfront near the intersection of West and Oak Streets. Additional properties within the complex will include another 40-story tower, a 32-story building, and 22-story building.

Calyer Place’s 40-Story Tower Nears Topping Out in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Construction is approaching topping out on Calyer Place, a 40-story residential tower in GreenpointBrooklyn. The master plan is being done by Cooper Robertson & Partners and SLCE Architects is the designer of the buildings. M&H Realty LLC is the developer of the 439-foot-tall tower will be joined by another 40-story structure and a pair of 19- and 14-story buildings. In total, the development will yield 1 million square feet with around 700,000 square feet of residential space spread across 700 apartments, as well as 10,000 square feet of commercial space, 7,160 square feet for unspecified community facility use, and over 600 parking spaces. The entire project is expected to cost $500 million. The land was once home to the historic Greenpoint Terminal Market, which suffered a ten-alarm fire in the mid-2000s and was demolished in 2017.

Renderings Revealed & Permits Approved for 27-41 West Street aka Calyer Place, Greenpoint, Brooklyn

In 2006, there was a 10-alarm fire that destroyed the historic waterside Greenpoint Terminal Market. A few small buildings remained onsite before they were finally demolished in 2017. Now,  the site is cleared for development and Greenpoint is about to yield yet another major addition to New York City’s skyline, named Calyer Place, after the neighborhood street. Renderings have been released, revealing a scenic landscaped public esplanade overlooking the Manhattan skyline, along with five mixed-use structures populating the site. M&H Realty LLC is responsible for the development.
