New Art Galleries Rising at 505-511 West 27th Street, West Chelsea

Located in the northern section of Chelsea, in between Zaha Hadid’s first residential building and the High Line stretching over West 27th Street, a series of new art galleries designed by Studio MDA founder Markus Dochantschi are nearing completion. The project will yield nearly 15,000 square feet of interior gallery space split between two single-story buildings. Dubbed “The High Line Nine,” the structures are currently under construction, and are being developed by Related.

The site is a block away from the 6 Train’s 28th Street Station, and two stations away from both Union Square and Grand Central. Four blocks away is the scenic Madison Square Park. Daniel Dabakaroff of Skyland Management is listed as responsible for the development.

Permits Filed for 43-Story Hotel at 450 Eleventh Avenue, Hudson Yards

Yet another new high-rise is officially about to begin rising in Hudson Yards. Permits have been filed for a 43-story hotel at 450 Eleventh Avenue, across from the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and West 37th Street. The 34th Street Hudson Yards subway station is four blocks away. Atria Builders is responsible for the permit filings, and Flushing-based Marx Development Groups will be responsible for the development.
