Another Contender for Queens’ Tallest Skyscraper Revealed at 42-50 24th Street, Long Island City

Renderings are out for a 74-story tower at 42-50 24th Street, in downtown Long Island City, Queens. If built, the structure would be a major addition to the borough’s vertical profile, with a speculative minimum height of 750 feet, based on double-height retail at the base. If it ends up being any higher, the structure would become the tallest structure in Queens. Its current competitor is 23-15 44th Drive, a condominium tower expected to rise 752 feet, and is located three blocks to the south. The tallest proposed building for the borough was formerly 29-37 41^st Avenue, though developer Durst downsized the project to just 710 feet.

Permits Filed for 33-10 38th Avenue, Long Island City, Queens

Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 33-10 38th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. The site is one block from the 36th Street subway station, serviced by the E, M, and R trains, and four blocks from the 39th Avenue subway station, serviced by the N and W trains. Ravi Patel is listed as behind the applications.

Residential Tower Tops Out at 24-16 Queens Plaza South in Long Island City

Greystone Development‘s most recent residential project has now topped-off at 24-16 Queens Plaza South. Located in Long Island City, the 23-story tower will eventually comprise over 100,000 square feet, yielding 117 residential units and a full suite of amenities including an open-air rooftop deck, a pool, a fitness center, co-working spaces, and more to be announced upon completion. The latest update comes from The Court Square blog, and also includes a fresh rendering.

Rendering Revealed for Rockrose’s 43-12 Hunter Street, Long Island City

Excavation has officially wrapped and a rendering has been revealed for Long Island City’s “Triangle” residential building, located at 43-12 Hunter Street. When complete, the project will stand 18 stories over Long Island City and will introduce 123 rental units to the expanding community. The Court Square Blog first reported on the progress.

Permits have been filed for an eight-story hotel at 23-15 39^th Avenue, in Long Island City, Queens. The site is seven blocks away from the Queensboro Plaza subway station, serviced by the 7, N, and W trains, a significant transfer station in Queens. Four blocks to the west of that station is the Queens Plaza subway station, serviced by E, M, and R trains. Surjeet Kaur of Sunny Builders NY Corp is responsible for the development.

Long Island City’s First Office Towers Of The Decade, “JACX,” Near Halfway Mark

Construction has been slow-moving this year for the JACX development in Long Island City, Queens. Two 26-story towers are rising at 28-07 Jackson Avenue and 28-10 Queens Plaza South, and the pair will yield new office space marketed toward the technology sector. Images for the site reveal construction has risen as high as the twelfth floor, an increase of eight floors since January. Tishman Speyer and Qatari Diar are responsible for the development.

Sam Chang Files for 324-Room Hotel at 38-39 9th Street, Long Island City, Queens

Permits have been filed for a 13-story hotel at 38-39 9^th Street, in Long Island City, Queens. The site is seven blocks away from the 21^st Street-Queensbridge subway station, serviced by the F trains and the first stop in Queens. Hotel mogul Sam Chang will be responsible for the development.

New Storage Facility Planned for 39-32 Review Avenue, Long Island City, Queens

Located in the southwest corner of Long Island City, a new, three-story industrial building will take shape along a winding, undeveloped stretch of Newton Creek. The lot measures 37,543 square feet, and is officially zoned for warehouse, storage, and light industrial use.
