Delta’s $4B New Terminal Debuts at LaGuardia Airport in East Elmhurst, Queens

Terminal C, Delta’s new dedicated terminal, is now complete and open for business at LaGuardia Airport. The $4 billion terminal spans 1.3 million square feet and represents Delta’s largest-ever airport investment. New facilities include 37 gates, 36 full-service check-in counters, 49 self-service kiosks, 16 bag drop counters, 11 security screening lanes with room for five additional lanes in the future, and 13 restrooms.

Renderings Revealed for LaGuardia Airport’s New Delta Terminal

Governor Cuomo announced this week that the first of four new concourses within the upgraded Delta terminal at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) will open this fall. The renderings illustrate a light-filled, 105,000-square-foot concourse with views of Citi Field and Flushing Bay. According to Curbed, the new concourse’s amenities will include H&H Bagels, Birch Coffee, Juice Press, and Rossi Pizzeria from Chef Mark Iacono.

First New Gates Open for LaGuardia Airport’s $8 Billion Redevelopment

Earlier this month, the Eastern Concourse in LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B opened its first new gates to the public. The revamp is part one of an $8 billion, 2.7 million square foot redevelopment at one of the nation’s busiest airports, which also includes a rebuild of Terminal C. In undertaking this multi-phase construction plan, LGA had to remain fully operational to their 30-million passengers a year. Old facilities were demolished only as new facilities were completed, ensuring the airport never loses capacity. When complete, LGA will be the first new airport built in the country in more than 25 years.

La Guardia Airport’s $8 Billion Overhaul Making Major Headway

Things are looking up for North America’s worst airport. Construction is moving along at the LaGuardia Airport renovation and expansion in East Elmhurst, Queens. The $8 billion overhaul of the transport hub hopes to alleviate the airport of its notorious struggle with constant delays and cancellations, a source of national embarrassment and numerous dubious honors, like being ranked the 14th worst airport in the world. LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP) is behind the project.
