Developers and city officials recently joined to celebrate the completion of Raven Hall, a 22-story mixed-income rental building in Coney Island. The building is located at 2006 Surf Avenue and introduces a collection of 216 affordable apartments, a public parking garage, and 8,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for Raven Hall, a nine-story mixed-use building at 2006 Surf Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Designed by Stephen B. Jacobs Group and developed by Georgica Green Ventures, New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and Concern for Independent Living, the 231,978-square-foot structure contains residences, ground-floor commercial space, and parking for 102 vehicles. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 138 units for residents at 40 to 100 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $21,635 to $148,000.
The New Rochelle Industrial Development Agency recently approved plans to construct a 100 percent affordable residential tower in the downtown center of New Rochelle. The 20-story property will take shape at 11 Garden Street and is designed by architect Stephen B. Jacobs Group.
Foundation work appears to be underway on the eight-story, 18-unit mixed-use building under development at 1875 Broadway, located on the corner of DeSales Place in eastern Bushwick. The new building, with 7,019 square feet of community facility space, is part of the ongoing redevelopment of the former Our Lady of Lourdes convent. The project includes the conversion of a four-story structure at 11 DeSales Place and the construction of a six-story structure to the north, which has topped out, featuring an additional 58 residential units and 1,215 square feet of community facility space.
A rendering has been revealed of the nine-story, 135-unit mixed-use building planned at 3003 West 21st Street (a.k.a. 2002 Surf Avenue), on Coney Island. Addition details have also emerged since new building applications were filed in April. The 118,743-square-foot structure will contain a mix of affordable and supportive housing, with 53 apartments to be rented at below-market rates through the affordable housing lottery, and 82 apartments to house homeless veterans. The units will all be one-bedrooms and should average 733 square feet apiece. There will also be 7,815 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Long Island-based Concern for Independent Living and Georgica Green Ventures are the developers. The Stephen B. Jacobs Group is the architect and completion is expected in 2018.
