Six-Story, 20-Unit Residential Building Filed at 1135 Clay Avenue, Fleetwood-Concourse Village

An anonymous Bronx-based LLC has filed applications for a six-story, 20-unit residential building at 1135 Clay Avenue, in the West Bronx’s Fleetwood-Concourse Village section. The project will measure 20,695 square feet and its residential units should average 838 square feet apiece. The units will range from studios to two-bedrooms and will probably be rentals. Paul E. Jennings’s Brooklyn-based Freeform + Deform is the architect of record. The 50-foot-wide, 4,876-square-foot site is currently occupied by a dilapidated two-story structure. Demolition permits haven’t been filed. The 167th Street stop on the D train is eight blocks away.

124 Sterling Street

Three-Story, Three-Unit Residential Building Coming to 124 Sterling Street, Prospect Lefferts Gardens

Property owner Martin Forrester has filed applications for a three-story, three-unit residential building at 124 Sterling Street, in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, located two blocks from the Sterling Street stop on the 2/5 trains. The structure will measure 3,201 square feet, which means its full-floor residential units should average 1,067 square feet apiece, indicative of condominiums. The ground floor apartment will be a duplex and will feature additional private space in the cellar. Brooklyn Navy Yard-based Freeform + Deform is the architect of record. The 2,575-square-foot corner site, at Bedford Avenue, was occupied by a four-story apartment building until it was demolished in 2006.

Flatbush Caton Market Will Live on in a New Affordable Housing Development

After two years in limbo, the city-owned Flatbush Caton Market may finally be redeveloped into affordable housing and a Caribbean business center. During a press conference this morning, the city’s Economic Development Corporation announced plans to demolish the brightly colored building at 794 Flatbush Avenue in Flatbush and replace it with 10 stories of affordable apartments.
