Structural Framework Finished for 425 Park Avenue’s Parapet Fins, in Midtown East

YIMBY last checked in on the construction progress and installation of the structural frames for 425 Park Avenue‘s trident of parapet fins back in August. Now all three are in place above the flat roof of the 47-story, 897-foot-tall Midtown East structure. The office tower is designed by Norman Foster, head of Foster + Partners, and is being developed by L&L Holding Company LLC. Adamson Associates is the architect of record.

Steelwork Reaches the Top Podium Level of Norman Foster’s 50 Hudson Yards

The steelwork is continuing its vertical ascent at 50 Hudson Yards, where the large rectangular floor plates have begun to reach the sixth and final floor of the podium. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the supertall skyscraper will eventually stand 1,011 feet tall and contain 2.9 million square feet of office space. Oxford Properties and Mitsui Fudosan are developing the project, which is the final component in the first phase of Related Companies‘ Hudson Yards and will also be the largest office building by floor space in the 28-acre master plan.

First Look at JPMorgan Chase’s Future Supertall Headquarters at 270 Park Avenue, in Midtown East

Demolition preparation at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East continues to make headway, and today, YIMBY has the first renderings of Foster + Partners Architects’ planned headquarters for JPMorgan Chase. The supertall is apparently set to stand 1,425 feet to its rooftop, which would make it the third-tallest building by roof height in New York, at least ranked among current buildings. A tipster sent YIMBY images of the model for the project, alongside a rendering of what could be the final design for the highly anticipated supertall. Adamson Associates is listed as the architect of record.

270 Park Avenue’s Shrouded Demolition Making Progress in Midtown East

Work to prepare 270 Park Avenue for its demolition is continuing in Midtown East. Since YIMBY’s last update in late July, more scaffolding and netting have been installed on the lower section of the Modernist-style skyscraper. JPMorgan Chase is the developer of the project to tear down the 1.5-million-square-foot, 52-story tower and replace it with a 57-story supertall designed by Foster + Partners Architects, with Adamson Associates as the architect of record.

Silverstein Updates YIMBY On Continued World Trade Center Progress as Work on Perelman PAC Gains Momentum

As we look back today in remembrance of September 11, 2001, it’s affirming to appreciate the progress that has been made on the new World Trade Center Complex, especially over the last handful of years. The development has restored a vertical prowess to the Financial District and the Lower Manhattan skyline, given rise to a stunning new transit center topped by by Santiago Calatrava‘s Oculus, and will soon become a cultural destination as well. Construction has resumed for the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center, tenants are steadily filling the 2.5 million square feet of office space at Three World Trade Center, and tourists and locals are experiencing Memorial Glade, the newest section of the 9/11 Memorial. YIMBY also checks in on the current state of Two World Trade Center and Five World Trade Center.
