Foster + Partners’ 100 East 53rd Street Rebrands as ‘Selene’ in Midtown East, Manhattan

Occupancy is available for Selene, a 63-story residential skyscraper at 100 East 53rd Street in Midtown. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the slender 711-foot-tall reinforced concrete edifice is wrapped in a sleek undulating glass curtain wall and yields 94 bespoke residences with prices starting at $1.875 million dollars. Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing is handling sales and marketing of the homes, which range from pied-à-terre one-bedrooms to sprawling full-floor layouts. 100 East 53rd Street is located at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 53rd Street, directly across Lexington Avenue from the Citigroup Center and directly behind Seagram Building, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The sponsor for Selene is an affiliate of Vanke US, and RFR is no longer involved with the sponsor entity or the ownership of the building.

Staten Island-based Foster Development has filed applications for three three-story, single-family houses at 121-125 Hendricks Avenue, in St. George, located along Staten Island’s North Shore. Two of the houses will measure 2,050 square feet and the last will measure 1,946 square feet, which means the project will probably be geared towards families. There will be a total of six off-street parking spaces, one of which will be housed in a small garage. Joseph M. Morace’s Staten Island-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 75-foot-wide, 7,500-square-foot property is currently vacant.


109-125 Greenfield Avenue

Five Two-Story, Two-Family Houses Coming to 109-125 Greenfield Avenue, Clifton

Staten Island-based Foster Development has filed applications for five two-story, two-family houses at 109-125 Greenfield Avenue, in Clifton. That’s a neighborhood along Staten Island’s North Shore. The buildings will each measure between 3,960 square feet and 4,043 square feet. Across the entire development, the full-floor residential units should average a family-sized 1,331 square feet apiece. Each house will also feature a single-car garage in the cellar. Joseph M. Morace’s Staten Island-based architectural firm is the architect of record. The 188-foot-wide, 23,124-square-foot property is currently occupied by a two-story house. Demolition permits haven’t been filed. The site is three blocks from the neighborhood’s Staten Island Railway station.


260 Elizabeth Street

Six Semi-Detached, Three-Story Homes Coming To 260 Elizabeth Street, West New Brighton

Staten Island-based Foster Development has filed applications to construct six semi-detached three-story, single-family homes at 21-27 Clove Lake Place and 260-270 Elizabeth Street, in Staten Island’s West New Brighton neighborhood, located on the northern shore. The six residential units will share 6,705 square feet of total residential space, for average individual homes of 1,118 square feet. Also Staten Island-based Joseph Morace is the architect of record, and the site’s old 1.5-story home was demolished earlier this year.
