Seaport Residences Remains Indefinitely Stalled at 161 Maiden Lane in Financial District, Manhattan

Leading off our Turkey Week rundown of prominent stalled projects in New York City is Seaport Residences, a 60-story residential skyscraper at 161 Maiden Lane along the border of Lower Manhattan’s Financial District and the South Street Seaport District. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group, the slender 670-foot-tall tower, originally dubbed One Seaport, was planned to span 200,000 square feet and yield 80 condominium units with interiors by Groves & Co. Ray Builders was the last general contractor to work on the beleaguered project, which stands on a narrow site bound by South Street and Maiden Lane, directly across from the FDR Drive and the East River.

Kicking off our annual Turkey Week rundown of notable stalled projects is Seaport Residences, a 60-story residential skyscraper at 161 Maiden Lane along the border of Lower Manhattan’s Financial District and the South Street Seaport District. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group, the 670-foot-tall tower has been on hold since sometime in late 2020, and its future remains uncertain. The 200,000-square-foot structure is planned to yield 80 units with interiors by Groves & Co. Ray Builders was the latest contractor for the property, which is located on a narrow rectangular site bound by South Street and Maiden Lane.

Olympia’s Façade Completes Installation at 30 Front Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Façade installation is complete on Olympia, a 33-story residential tower at 30 Front Street in DUMBOBrooklyn. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group, the 401-foot-tall structure will yield 76 condominium units in one- to five-plus-bedroom layouts with interiors designed by Workstead and sales and marketing by the Eklund Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman and Karen Heyman at Sotheby’s. Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Front Street to the north, York Street to the south, and Washington Street to the east.

NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Clinic’s Façade Nears Completion at 70 Atlantic Avenue in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn

Façade work is finishing up on the NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Clinic, a five-story medical facility at 70 Atlantic Avenue in the River Park master plan in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed in house by NY Langone Health, the 89-foot-tall structure spans 160,000 square feet. The site was formerly occupied by the 12-story The Long Island College Hospital, which was purchased by Fortis for $10.1 million in 2014 and subsequently demolished. Skanska USA Building is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 339 Hicks Street and located at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Hicks Street.

Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group, the 401-foot-tall sail-shaped structure will yield 76 condominium units in one- to five-plus-bedroom layouts with interiors by Workstead. Sales and marketing are being led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the Eklund Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman and Karen Heyman at Sotheby’s, and Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Front Street to the north, Washington Street to the east, and York Street to the south.
