In the final days of 2014, YIMBY reported on applications for an eight-story, 78-unit residential building at 2100 Bedford Avenue, in northern Flatbush, located within five blocks from stops on the Q, 2, and 5 trains. In early 2015, demolition was underway on three 2.5-story wood-framed houses, and by the summer the properties were cleared. Construction began sometime after, and within the last few weeks, the structure has topped out, as seen in photos by Tectonic. The 86,622 square-foot balconied structure will have 60,364 square feet of residential space, which means rental units will average 774 square feet apiece. Floral Park-based Metropolitan Homes is developing and Karl Fischer Architect is designing the project.
Last week, YIMBY told you about a seven-story apartment building planned on Lenox Road in East Flatbush. Now the same developer is back at it just a few blocks south, and he’s filed new building applications for a four-story residential project at 157 Erasmus Street, between Rogers and Nostrand avenues in Flatbush.
Developers are always looking further east and south for cheap property in Brooklyn, and a combination of generous zoning and inexpensive land have encouraged several new residential projects in East Flatbush. One of those developments is set to rise at 309 Lenox Road, between Nostrand and New York Avenues.
Developments are cropping up all along Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush, and today we have a rendering for two four-story buildings headed to corner of Erasmus Street, just south of the Church Avenue stop on the 2 and 5 trains.
