Permits have been filed for a 27-story mixed-use building at 15 Beekman Street in Manhattan’s Financial District. Located at the intersection of Nassau Street and Beekman Street, the corner lot also known as 126-132 Nassau Street, is within walking distance of Fulton Street subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, J, and Z trains. SL Green Realty is listed as the owner behind the applications for the future Pace University academic center and dormitory. Pace University also has an academic property at 41 Park Row.

A complete set of renderings have been revealed for the 75,000-square-foot New Market building in Lower Manhattan’s South Street Seaport. The construction is part of a massive undertaking by the Howard Hughes Corporation and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in the South Street Seaport district. The community facility space will sit adjacent to the Pier 17 building and the Tin Building, which is currently being rebuilt and will reopen in early 2021.

LPC to Review Proposal for Revamped Pedestrian Space in Financial District

One of the first in a slew of proposals to revamp pedestrian areas surrounding the New York Stock Exchange has landed in front of the Landmarks Preservation Commission. This phase of work pertains to the construction of new concrete seating and planters near the Fearless Girl sculpture, Federal Hall, and along the intersection of Broad and Wall Street.

The Landmarks Preservation Commission recently reviewed proposals from Fogarty Finger Architecture to renovate and expand existing retail area within the landmarked 15 Park Row tower in Manhattan’s Financial District. The structure was originally constructed in 1899, then converted in the early 2000s to accommodate rental apartments with ground-floor retail area.

Construction Continues on Revamped Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza in the Financial District

The new and upgraded Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza is quickly taking shape in the Financial District. The project combines two underutilized concrete plazas and merges them together to form a singular green public space that measures about two-thirds of an acre. George Vellonakis is the landscape architect of the property, which sits on what used to be a neighborhood called Little Syria. The park is named after the late Downtown Alliance president Elizabeth Berger, who died in 2013.

Located at 100 Pearl Street, also known as 7 Hanover Square, scope of work includes an infill of the existing arcade with ground-floor retail and new lobby spaces.
