The Charlotte’s Curtain Wall Continues Assembly at 25 Columbus Drive in Jersey City

Curtain wall work is continuing on The Charlotte, a 626-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper at 25 Columbus Drive in Jersey City and number 24 on our construction countdown. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects for Mack-Cali’s Roseland Residential Trust, the 57-story tower will yield 750 units with interiors designed by Fogarty Finger. Melillo + Bauer Associates is the landscape architect, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, AMA Consulting Engineers is the mechanical engineer, and KSS Architects is the designer of the school that will be located in the podium.

The Charlotte’s Façade Rising Quickly at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City

Façade work is progressing on The Charlotte, a 57-story mixed-use skyscraper at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects for Mack-Cali’s Roseland Residential Trust, the 626-foot-tall reinforced concrete superstructure topped out back in early September, and its glass and metal curtain wall has since risen more than halfway to the parapet. The property will yield 750 units with interior design by Fogarty FingerMelillo + Bauer Associates is the landscape architect, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, AMA Consulting Engineers is the mechanical engineer, and KSS Architects is the designer of the school that will be located in the podium.

Harborside 1–3’s Recladding Makes Progress in Jersey City

Work is moving along on the exterior recladding of Harborside 1, Harborside 2, and Harborside 3, a contiguous set of eight- to 12-story buildings along the Jersey City waterfront. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and developed by Mack-Cali Realty Corporation and SJP Properties, the $75 million project will transform the exterior look of the full-block complex, which is bound by Harborside Place to the north, Hudson Street to the west, and Christopher Columbus Drive to the south.

Work Begins on 200 Amsterdam’s Crown, on the Upper West Side

Façade work has reached the crown of 200 Amsterdam Avenue, the Upper West Side’s tallest skyscraper. The 52-story, 283,000-square-foot project is being developed by SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan America and is designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects with CetraRuddy as the interior designer. Despite heated opposition from NIMBY civic organizations led by the Municipal Arts Society and a ruling by a Supreme State Court Judge that could lead to a reduction of 20 or more floors from the top half of the structure, construction is still continuing as planned.
