Four-Story Mixed-Use Commercial Conversion Underway At 456 Johnson Avenue, East Williamsburg

Sequoia Development Group is currently converting the four-story, 55,000 square-foot former paper mill at 456 Johnson Avenue, in East Williamsburg, into a mixed-use commercial property. According to The Real Deal, the upper three floors will have a total of 35 office units, each measuring between 900 and 2,200 square feet apiece. Retail space is planned on the ground floor and the building is being dubbed Paper Mill. The developer is leasing the property from its owner, Maki Realty Corp. Red Hook-based ND Architecture & Design is designing the conversion.



71 White Street

Reveal For Seven-Story Hotel and Retail Project At 71 White Street, East Williamsburg

Last spring, All Year Management filed applications for a seven-story, mixed-use commercial hub at 71 White Street, in East Williamsburg. The 79,365 square-foot project would feature a 112-key hotel, an amphitheater, retail space, and restaurants, according to Arch Daily, who also has renderings. The graffitied façade on the existing single-story warehouse will be preserved, and retail space will span the ground and second floors. In the back of the building, an open-air, second-story level will feature additional access to businesses as well as the amphitheater. The hotel will occupy the upper five floors, and will include a variety of suites and a rooftop bar. ODA Architecture is behind the design.


101 Varick Avenue

Developer Plans Mixed-Use Commercial Building At 101 Varick Avenue, East Williamsburg

The Rabsky Group is purchasing the single-story, 92,221 square-foot warehouse at 101 Varick Avenue, in East Williamsburg, for $48 million, with prospects to redevelop the 141,863 square-foot property into commercial space. A new office building could measure 280,000 square feet, and would include multiple tenants and ground-floor retail space, according to The Real Deal. The existing warehouse is currently being leased as warehouse, storage, and office space. The deal is expected to close in February.

Last week, YIMBY revealed one of Astral Weeks’ projects in Flatbush, and now we have a look at one of their developments in a very different part of Brooklyn – East Williamsburg. The four-story apartment buildings will fill a vacant lot at 30-42 Orient Avenue, on the corner of Olive Street across from Cooper Park.
