Olympia’s Façade Installation Continues at 30 Front Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Exterior work is progressing on Olympia, a 26-story residential building at 30 Front Street in DUMBOBrooklyn. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group with Workstead leading the interior design, the 401-foot-tall structure will yield 76 condominiums marketed by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the Eklund Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman and Karen Heyman at Sotheby’s. Urban Atelier Group is managing construction, Manhattan Concrete created the reinforced concrete superstructure, and King Contacting Group is in charge of the CMU work, exterior insulation finish systems, and roofing for the project, which is bound by Front Street to the north, Washington Street to the east, and York Street to the south.

Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Emily Roebling Plaza Takes Shape in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Work is taking shape on the $8 million Emily Roebling Plaza underneath the Brooklyn Bridge in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The final component of the 1.3-mile-long Brooklyn Bridge Park complex designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc., the plaza honors Emily Roebling, who supervised the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge and became the first person to cross it in a horse-drawn carriage after its opening on May 24, 1883. The 2-acre park, located right off of Water Street near the DUMBO Brooklyn Bridge Park ferry terminal, broke ground amid a snowstorm on December 9, 2020. Attending and speaking at the ceremony were Kriss Roebling, Emily’s great-great grandson, along with his wife Meg Roebling and their two children Chase and August Roebling.

Developed by Fortis Property Group and designed by Hill West Architects with Workstead handling interiors, the 401-foot-tall tower is the tallest structure in the neighborhood and will yield 76 condominium units with sales and marketing led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the Eklund Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman and Karen Heyman at Sotheby’s. Olympia is situated on a relatively narrow triangular plot bound by Front Street to the north, Washington Street to the east, and York Street to the south. 168 Plymouth Street’s Residential Conversion Progresses in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Work is continuing on 168 Plymouth Street, a two-building loft conversion and addition project in the DUMBOBrooklyn Historic District. Developed and designed by by Alloy Development, the project will yield a total of 46 units and revitalize the 101-year-old structure that was once the home of the Concrete Daylight Factory at 42 Jay Street. The adjacent 131-year-old Brick & Timber Building at 50 Jay Street is also part of the transformation and includes a one-story expansion atop the roof parapet. 168 Plymouth Street is located at the southwestern corner of Plymouth and Jay Streets, a short walk from the East River waterfront and Brooklyn Bridge Park.
