The terracotta and bronze façade has reached the bottom of the steel crown of SHoP Architects‘ 111 West 57th Street, the second-tallest project in YIMBY’s construction countdown. Developed by JDS Development, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, the 1,428-foot-tall residential skyscraper features a height-to-width ratio of 24:1, making it the most slender building in the world. A total of 46 condominiums will be created and marketed by Douglas Elliman. Studio Sofield is the interior designer.
Work is almost entirely complete on the reflective curtain wall of 125 Greenwich Street, number 14 in our countdown of the tallest projects under construction in New York City. The only sections awaiting façade work are the podium and the portion where the exterior hoist is still mounted. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Bizzi & Partners and Vector Group, the slender 88-story residential skyscraper stands 912 feet tall over the Financial District. The 273 residential units are being marketed by Douglas Elliman, while the interiors are designed by March & White. Plaza Construction is the general contractor for the development.
Construction is now underway at 540 Sixth Avenue, a 12-story mixed-use building in Chelsea, Manhattan. The property is located between 14th and 15th Streets and will eventually comprise 80,000 square feet.
The 29th building in YIMBY’s construction countdown is One Seaport, aka 161 Maiden Lane. The reflective glass envelope is steadily climbing up the topped-out Financial District skyscraper. The 200,000-square-foot, 60-story, reinforced concrete tower is designed by Hill West Architects and being developed by Fortis Property Group LLC. Ray Builders is the current contractor for the project, while Groves & Co is serving as the interior designer. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is handling sales of the units.
The plaza at the base of 111 Murray Street is getting close to completion in Tribeca. The 10,000-square-foot public park sits to the east of the main entrance of the 792-foot-tall residential skyscraper, which was completed in 2018. The 64-story glass tower is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and Hill West Architects. Witkoff Group and Fisher Brothers are the two developes. Plaza Construction is the main contractor and DeSimone is the structural engineer, and marketing and sales for the residential units are being handled by Douglas Elliman.
