Construction is nearing completion on The Dime, a 22-story mixed-use building at 209 Havemeyer Street in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Alternately addressed as 275 South 5th Street, the structure is designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture and is being developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Holdings. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is handling all leasing for the 177 rental units, which launched in May. Grain Collective is the landscape architect and 1 Oak Contracting is the general contractor for the project.

Located at 209 Havemeyer Street, the 350,000-square-foot project includes the refurbishment and incorporation of the 112-year-old landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh. The topped-out structure is designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture and developed by Charney Companies (formerly Charney Construction & Development) and Tavros Holdings. Douglas Elliman is handling leasing for The Dime’s 177 rental units, JLL is the commercial broker, and Ripco is in charge of the retail component. Brooklyn’s First Supertall Gets Its Construction Crane, at 9 DeKalb Avenue

Work has taken a big step forward at 9 DeKalb Avenue, the outer boroughs’ first supertall skyscraper and number seven on YIMBY’s countdown of the tallest projects underway in New York City. The construction crane has been assembled at the Downtown Brooklyn site and things are gearing up for the start of vertical progress in 2020. The 73-story, 1,066-foot-tall tower is designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS, the same duo behind 111 West 57th Street.

The installation of the outside envelope on all levels of  “The Dime” in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is nearing the finishing mark. The topped-out, 23-story mixed-use complex is located at 209 Havemeyer Street and stands close to the elevated Marcy Avenue subway station.
