Full demolition permits have been filed for a couple of two-story buildings at 2328-2330 Broadway on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The office buildings were built in 1910, and cumulatively yield 18,870 square feet of space. Plans for the lot are underway by developers Welltower and Hines, which include luxury housing for seniors.
Full demolition permits have been filed for three adjacent four-story structures at 1637-1641 First Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The mixed residential and commercial buildings were purchased by Extell Development over the past decade for over $20 million. It is unclear what plans Extell has for the substantial lot.
Full demolition permits have been filed for the three-story building at 244 East 52nd Street in Midtown East, Manhattan. The site currently houses a 9,200 square foot education facility built in 1910. Located between Second Avenue and Third Avenue, the lot is close to the Lexington Av-53 Street subway station, serviced by the E and M trains.
Full demolition permits have been filed for the four-story building at 323 East 79th Street, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Earlier this month, YIMBY reported on new construction filings for a 17-story residential building that will rise on-site. The 1930’s office and commercial building currently on the lot yields a gross 8,084 square feet.
Full demolition permits have been filed for the three-story building at 45 East 126th Street, in Harlem, along with adjacent lots 1975 and 1981 Madison Avenue. Owned by Metropolitan Community United Methodist Church, the three buildings were built at separate times, but some of the construction dates back to 1905 according to NYC Planning records. The Metropolitan Community United Methodist Church was founded in 1942 yet the edifice it currently occupies was built from 1869-71, for St. James Methodist Episcopal Church of Harlem. The Neo-Gothic building features a noble bell tower and vaulted interior.
