Four-Story, Seven-Unit Residential Building Planned At 1362 54th Street, Borough Park

Mordechai Schwimmer has filed applications for a four-story, seven-unit residential building at 1362 54th Street, in central Borough Park, located right around the corner from 55th Street stop on the D train. The structure will measure 7,333 square feet in total, which means units will average a family-sized 1,048 square feet apiece. Diego Aguilera’s Rego Park-based architecture firm is the applicant of record. Demolition permits were recently filed to take down the existing 2.5-story, two-unit brick house.

37-17 98th Street

Two Three-Story, Two-Unit Homes Coming To 37-17 98th Street, North Corona

Property owner Shan Lin has received permits to build two, three-story residential buildings at 37-17 – 37-21 98th Street, in North Corona, three blocks from the Junction Boulevard stop on the 7 train. Each will measure 4,071 square feet and boast two relatively large units. One unit will occupy the ground floor of each structure, while the second unit will span the second and third levels. Robert Lin’s Flushing-based A&T Engineering is the applicant of record. Each lot’s former two-story wood-framed house was demolished this past summer.

34 East 51st Street

20-Story Office Building At 34 East 51st Street Readied For January Opening, Midtown

Back in January of 2014, YIMBY brought you a construction update on the 20-story, 75,000 square-foot office building planned at 34 East 51st Street, in Midtown, and later that month, we brought you a rendering. Today, the building is structurally complete and preparing for a January 2016 opening date, according to Crain’s. The boutique office property’s floors range from 2,700 to 5,000 square feet, and it also has club-like amenities, with the overall setup geared towards smaller office tenants. Istanbul-based developer Sedesco is behind the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill-designed project.

290 West Street

Nine-Story, 13-Unit Condo Project Wraps Up Construction At 290 West Street, TriBeCa

Back in October, YIMBY brought you an update on the nine-story, 13-unit residential building topping out at 290 West Street, in TriBeCa. Since then, the structure has received its cladding, as seen in these photos courtesy of Tectonic. The project’s condominiums range from 2,241 to 3,165 square feet, and the top three penthouses each have private outdoor space. Adjmi & Andreoli served as the design architect, while VE Equities is the developer. Only two units have yet to be sold, and move-ins can probably be expected by early 2016.

59 Westchester Avenue

Five-Story, 79-Unit Mixed-Use Building Proposed At 59 Westchester Avenue, Port Chester

Manhattan-based developer G&S Investors is planning to build a five-story mixed-use project with up to 79 residential units at 59 Westchester Avenue or 1 North Main Street, in Port Chester, Westfair reports. The site is currently a parking lot and located two blocks from the village’s Metro-North Railroad station. It would include 14,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and many of the units would be studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms. The village board would have to approve a zoning variance, which is a process hoped to be completed by the end of 2016.
