Six-Story, 72-Unit Supportive Housing Project Filed at 402 Snediker Avenue, East New York

The Brooklyn-based nonprofit Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM) has filed applications for a six-story, 72-unit supportive housing apartment building at 402 Snediker Avenue, located in the New Lots section of East New York. Tenants at the project, dubbed Beverly’s Place, will have access to “an array of therapeutic, preventative, and wellness services” in the building, CCM stated when the project was revealed early last year.

City Seeking Developer for Mixed-Use Site at 11-24 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City

The New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority have launched a request for proposals (RFP) for the 58,000-square-foot development site at 11-24 Jackson Avenue, located in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City. The city is seeking a development team to deck over the site, which has railroad tracks passing underneath, and build a mixed-use project. Ideally, the project would have mixed-income residential units, ground-floor retail space, community facility space and open public space. The expectation is for the city to sell the site, DNAinfo reported.

Seven-Story, 79-Unit Residential Project Proposed at 22 New York Avenue, Newark, N.J.

Newark-based New York Garden Associates is proposing a seven-story, 79-unit residential building at 18-26 New York Avenue, in Newark’s Ironbound district. The project would also include a parking garage on the ground floor, Jersey Digs reported. The developer is seeking multiple variances for the project, which must be approved by the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment. The board heard the proposal earlier this month. The block-thru development site, which consists of seven lots, is vacant.


514 Eleventh Avenue

Silverstein Properties Considers Two-Towered Mixed-Use Project at 514 Eleventh Avenue, Midtown West

Silverstein Properties is now considering developing a two-towered mixed-use project 514 Eleventh Avenue, located on the block between West 40th and 41st streets in Midtown West. The latest plans, which the developer has not committed to at this time, would include a 600,000-square-foot residential condominium tower, followed by a separate one-million-square-foot commercial tower. These plans are consistent with current zoning laws and would not require a rezoning, Crain’s reported. CetraRuddy would be responsible for the design.


229 Ninth Street

Seven-Story, 24-Unit Residential Project Filed at 229 Ninth Street, Gowanus

Brooklyn-based Happy Living Development has filed applications for a seven-story, 24-unit residential project at 229 Ninth Street, in Gowanus. The project will measure 31,423 square feet and rise 80 feet above street level. Its residential units, located across the ground through seventh floors, plus a penthouse level, should average 901 square feet apiece, which means either condominiums or rentals could be in the works. There will also be a 10-car parking garage in the cellar. De-Jan Lu’s Greenwich Village-based firm is the architect of record. The 6,000-square-foot assemblage consists of three two-story townhouses at 227-231 Ninth Street. Demolition permits have not been filed.
