Three-Story Mixed-Use Project Filed at 5716 New Utrecht Avenue, Borough Park

Property owner Issak Tavalov has filed applications for a three-story, two-unit mixed-use building measuring 2,830 square feet at the vacant lot at 5716 New Utrecht Avenue, in southern Borough Park. Retail space will measure 850 square feet on the ground floor, and Sandor Weiss, of Gelu Durus Musica, is the architect of record.


4023 10th Avenue

10-Unit Mixed-Use Building Planned for 4023 10th Avenue, Borough Park

Lam’s Capital LLC has filed applications for a six-story, 10-unit mixed-use building at 4023 10th Avenue, in northern Borough Park. The structure will measure nearly 14,700 square feet in total; a community health care facility will take up nearly 3,050 square feet, and 2,440 square feet will be designated for retail. Shiming Tam is designing, and the existing three-story structure was approved for demolition in March.


1629 43rd Street

Five Buildings Totaling 15 Units Planned for 1629-1637 43rd Street, Borough Park

Newly filed construction applications have helped realize Geneva Partners’ development plans for an assemblage of lots spanning 1629-1637 43rd Street, in eastern Borough Park near Kensington. Five three-story buildings will hold 15 units, which will be divided across 19,500 square feet of residential space. Kenneth Thomas is designing, and three dilapidated 2.5-story structures were demolished this past March.



1260 43rd Street

Four-Family Residential Project Planned for 43rd Street in Borough Park

Property owner Naftali Steinmetz has filed new applications for a four-story, four-unit residential building, previously filed in 2013, for the currently vacant lot at 1260 43rd Street, in Borough Park. The building will measure 5,505 square feet, and Asher Hershkowitz is designing. The site’s three-story predecessor had been demolished in early 2014.
