Bjarke Ingels to Design Revamped Collegiate Church Redevelopment, 3 West 29th Street, Midtown South

YIMBY has covered the tribulations of the Collegiate Church redevelopment since the wrecking ball descended upon the Bancroft Bank Building, and several of its neighbors. The project, given the address of 8 West 30th Street, then wound its way through the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Now, the Moshe Safdie design has been ditched for an office tower by Bjarke Ingels of BIG Architects.

Tishman Speyer Moves Forward with 64-Story Hudson Yards Office Tower at 66 Hudson Boulevard

Last year, Tishman Speyer paid two tenants $25 million to vacate a small apartment on its development site in Hudson Yards. The hefty settlement cleared the way for the commercial real estate developer to build a massive office tower at 509 West 34th Street, between 10th and 11th avenues. Now the firm has filed plans for the 64-story building, which has been named “The Spiral” and comes with a second address at 66 Hudson Boulevard.

New Renderings Show Latest Revisions to BIG-Designed 76 11th Avenue

While the far West Side has its fair share of mega-projects, the scale of development in lower West Chelsea and the Meatpacking District is generally more subdued. The one major exception to that rule is at 76 11th Avenue, where a development team led by HFZ has an assemblage with 800,000 square feet of air rights, with plans by Bjarke Ingels Group previously revealed by YIMBY last year. Now, thanks to a tipster, we have a fresh set of images showing the fine-tuning occurring across several aspects of the design, including the retail podium and crown.
