Construction Wraps on Eight-Story, 70-Key Hotel at 1080 Broadway, Bedford-Stuyvesant

New building applications were originally filed back in 2013 for an eight-story, 70-key hotel at 1080 Broadway, on the edge of Bedford-Stuyvesant, located two blocks from the Kosciuszko Street stop on the J train. DNAinfo now reports construction on the hotel is nearly complete. The structure measures a total 34,365 square feet and the ground floor will host retail space. The project will also host cultural events and presentations. When it opens in 2017, the hotel will be operated by Red Lion Hotels Corporation’s Hotel RL brand. ABCNY is the developer and Salamon Engineering Group is the applicant of record.

Four-Story, Two-Unit Townhouse Coming To 168 Monroe Street, Bedford-Stuyvesant

Elad Ben-Kimon, doing business as a Brooklyn-based LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, two-family residential building at 168 Monroe Street, in western Bedford-Stuyvesant, located seven blocks north of the Nostrand Avenue stop on the A/C trains. Ronen Ben-Josef, doing business as a Midtown-based anonymous LLC, has filed applications for a five-story, eight-unit residential building at 277 Throop Avenue, in northern Bedford-Stuyvesant, located five blocks from the Myrtle Avenue stop on the J, M, and Z trains. The new building will encompass 7,492 square feet, which means its residential units will average a relatively spacious 937 square feet apiece. The units appear to be family-sized rentals, and amenities include tenant storage in the cellar. There will be two apartments per floor on the first three floors and then two duplexes spread across the fourth and fifth floors. Westchester-based Peter Klein Associates is the applicant of record. Demolition permits were filed back in October to raze the site’s dilapidating two-story townhouse.
