48 Affordable Housing Units Coming to 221 Port Richmond Avenue, Staten Island

New construction permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 221 Port Richmond Avenue, in Staten Island’s Port Richmond neighborhood. The corner site, between Castleton Avenue and Anderson Avenue, will soon be home to 48 affordable housing units, to be completed by 2021. Located in a commercial area, the lot is about a 22 minute bus ride along Castleton Avenue to the St. George ferry terminal that connects to Manhattan. Hudson Companies is listed as the owner behind the applications.

5Pointz-Replacing 22-44 Jackson Avenue’s 1,115 New Apartments Nearing Completion in Long Island City, Queens

They are the largest addition to the Long Island City residential market, and they’re nearing completion. The two towers located at 22-44 Jackson Avenue have long since topped out, and are now barreling toward opening day when they can finally add 1,115 residencies to the neighborhood. The project is housed on the former site of 5Pointz, a cultural significant structure that exhibited some incredible street art. G&M Realty is responsible for the development.

Construction of Mixed-Use 92-23 168th Street Kicks-Off in Jamaica, Queens

Construction is now underway on a sprawling mixed-use development in Jamaica, Queens, designed by architects Edelman Sultan Knox Wood for a multi-agency development team, and Omni New York. Located between Jamaica and Archer Avenues at 92-23 168th Street, the project will debut as “Archer Green” and incorporate residential, retail, commercial, and parking areas.

Rezoning Reveals 1340 Blondell Avenue in Westchester Square, The Bronx

Rezoning proposals filed by Blondell Equities have revealed a prospective new 9-story mixed-use building in the Westchester Square neighborhood of The Bronx. The proposed building at 1340 Blondell Avenue would contain rental apartments, retail space, and a community medical facility.

Located on a corner lot at 3 Livonia Avenue, “Edwin’s Place” is designed by renowned American architect Robert A.M. Stern for non-profit developer Breaking Ground and the African American Planning Commission.

Renderings have been revealed 2016 Arthur Avenue, a nine-story affordable housing complex coming to Tremont, The Bronx. Foxy Management will develop the building, with an affiliation to the Riverdale-based Hebrew Home for the Aged. This will be their second project working together, after the identically natured and 90% complete 1880 Boston Road.

Permits Filed for Seniors Affordable Housing at 64 Scholes Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for an eight-story affordable senior housing structure at 64 Scholes Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is within walking distance to three different subway stations, collectively providing access to the G, J, L, M, and Z trains. Alex Arker of the Arker Companies is responsible for the development.
