Work on the exterior of 99 Hudson Street is nearing completion. The external mechanical hoist has been dismantled and the remaining Jura limestone and glass panels are filling up the vertical strips in the curtain wall of Jersey City‘s tallest skyscraper. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by COA 99 Hudson, LLC, the topped-out 900-foot-tall residential tower soars prominently above the Hudson River waterfront and is clearly visible from Manhattan. Plaza Construction is in charge of building the 79-story project and Vidaris is overseeing the exterior envelope. The perimeter of the podium that contains the parking garage is also being enclosed with decorative metal panels.

Façade work is nearing completion at 99 Hudson Street, the tallest skyscraper in New Jersey. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by China Overseas America, the topped-out 900-foot-tall residential tower soars prominently above the Jersey City skyline. Plaza Construction is in charge of building the 79-story project and Vidaris is overseeing the exterior envelope, which is getting close to wrapping up. Assembly of the glass crown and installation of the Jura limestone curtain wall on the lower levels are the only components remaining.

Crown Installation for New Jersey’s New Tallest Building Underway at 99 Hudson Street, in Jersey City

After topping-out at the end of 2018, 99 Hudson Street has become the tallest skyscraper in both Jersey City and all of New Jersey, standing 900 feet to its rooftop. The 79-story residential building will have 781 units with perfect uninterrupted views of the World Trade Center, the morning sun, and afternoon sunsets to the west. Perkins Eastman is the designer of the tower, while the developer is China Overseas America. Plaza Construction is the main contractor, while DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer. Vidaris is in charge of the facade, which is now quickly making its way towards the crown.

99 Hudson Street Is Now the Tallest Skyscraper In Jersey City and New Jersey

With several more floors left to add, Jersey City’s 99 Hudson Street is almost at its final pinnacle 900 feet above street level. While the crown remains to be completed, it has now officially surpassed 30 Hudson Street, the 781-foot home of Goldman Sachs two blocks to the south, which has held the title of the tallest skyscraper in New Jersey since its completion in 2004.
