Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial tower, has officially topped out in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the 935-foot-tall, 2-million-square-foot skyscraper is the final component in Brookfield Properties’ five-building Manhattan West complex, and stands directly to the south of its 996-foot-tall fraternal twin, One Manhattan West.

One Manhattan West’s Supertall Superstructure Nears Topping-Out

Construction of the supertall office building One Manhattan West in Midtown has made rapid progress since our last reporting in October. The project has reached a few milestones while under the radar, including the superstructure finally stretching above its immediate neighbor, Three Manhattan West. The steel massing is 22 floors below the superstructure, and the curtain wall façade, which just began installation last October, is now 19 floors below the steel. The ballooning steel envelope is now significantly above its immediate neighbors, with the curtain wall starting to reach the same threshold. Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill LLP are responsible for the design.

New Renderings Revealed Of Five-Building Manhattan West Development, Midtown West

Over the past few months, the five-building, seven-million-square-foot mixed-use development dubbed Manhattan West, located on the mega-block bound by Ninth and Tenth avenues and West 31st and 33rd streets, has been quickly taking shape. In April, the project’s 62-story, 844-unit residential tower at 401 West 31st Street, dubbed Three Manhattan West, topped out. And work has been underway for over a year to modernize the 16-story, 1.8-million square-foot building at 450 West 33rd Street, dubbed Five Manhattan West. Now, new renderings have been revealed of the office portion of the project, dubbed One and Two Manhattan West.

62-Story, 844-Unit Residential Building Three Manhattan West Tops Out in Midtown West

In July of 2015, the 62-story, 844-unit residential building under development at 401 West 31st Street, in Midtown West, was a single floor above the street level. Now, the 807,384-square-foot building, dubbed Three Manhattan West, has topped out, Curbed NY reports. The 702-foot-tall structure will host 7,931 square feet of retail on the ground floor, followed by amenities on the second and third floors, and residential units on the fourth through 62nd floor. The rental apartments should average 877 square feet apiece, with 169 of them renting at below-market rates through the housing lottery. Brookfield Properties is the developer with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill behind the design and SLCE Architects serving as the architect of record. Completion is expected in fall 2017, though occupancy is expected earlier.
