Construction appears to be wrapping up on the five-story, 165-unit residential project under development at 267 Rogers Avenue, located between Carroll and Crown streets in western Crown Heights. The most recent building permits indicate the structure encompasses 112,256 square feet and rises a contextual 55 feet in height, not including the bulkhead.

When we last checked in on 267 Rogers Avenue in southern Crown Heights, the planned five-story rental building was barely more than a hole in the ground. Now walls are up, and the building has finally started to take shape.
Last April, YIMBY reported foundation work was underway at 267 Rogers Avenue, in western Crown Heights, where Heights Advisors is developing a five-story, 165-unit residential building, and now the structure is three floors above the street level, per Curbed. Units will average a rental-sized 679 square feet. Think Architecture and Design is the architect of record, and completion is slated for later this year.
Crown Heights has some of the fastest rising rents in all of Brooklyn. It’s gentrifying at a rate that merited two New York Times real estate section features in the last year, neither of which could resist mentioning riots that occurred 24 years ago. At the same time, new development is sweeping across the area, concentrated at the western edge between Washington and Nostrand Avenues.
The fate of Crown Heights’ St. Ignatius Catholic Church was sealed when the Bishop of Brooklyn shuttered it two years ago, and now foundation work has begun for the apartment building that will rise in its place, at 267 Rogers Avenue.
