41-21 28th Street has risen to its third level, on its way to its final height of 185 feet. The project, developed by All Year Management, will house 166 residential units spread across 126,718 square feet.
The existing building has been completely demolished at 11-51 47th Avenue on the southern tip of Long Island City, clearing the way for the 11-story condominium tower that will house 56 units and rise 125 feet.
Over the past month, the 19-story Aloft Hotel at 27-45 Jackson Avenue reached its full height. The building was designed by Gene Kaufman, who is best known for designing budget hotels of the type that seen here. While most of them stand in Manhattan and easily get lost in the skyscraper thickets, the new tower in central Long Island City is now the tallest all-hotel building in Queens.
The LIC Marriott and Residential Tower at 29-07 Queens Plaza North is effectively complete on the exterior, and the last glass panes have now been installed on its eastern facing facade. At 31 stories tall, it is now among the five tallest topped-out buildings in central Long Island City.
Over the past month, 42-14 Crescent Street, a 48-unit residential building in the Queens Plaza district, has reached ground level and is ready to rise to its full 13-story height. The project is being developed by Meadow Partners and has been designed by John Fotiadis Architect PLLC.
