The northwestern Bronx has become one of the few places in New York City where developers can build apartments relatively cheaply. Now prolific affordable developer Dunn Development has filed plans for a project in Norwood, a neighborhood just north of Bronx Park.
The owners of Textile Arts Center in Gowanus are building more light industrial space next door at 497 Carroll Street, between Third and Fourth avenues.
Another day, another new building in Crown Heights. Today’s crop of filings brought plans for a five-story, 16-unit development at 701 Prospect Place, between Bedford and Rogers Avenues.

A vacant lot in the far-flung southeastern Bronx neighborhood of Soundview is set to be redeveloped. The non-profit Institute for Children, Poverty and Homelessness plans to develop a six-story supportive housing project at 1600 Randall Avenue, at the edge of NYCHA’s Soundview Houses and Soundview Park.
