On Tuesday, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved the restoration and conversion of 1375 Dean Street, also known as the George B. and Susan Elkins House, from a single-family home to two two-unit townhouses within the same structure.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral To Get New Secure Entry For Cardinal Dolan

The Archdiocese of New York, in consultation with the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau, has determined that there is the need to provide additional security for Cardinal Timothy Dolan. To accomplish that, they want to build a private garage for the archbishop. That means cutting into St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved the proposal on Tuesday.

Developer Begins City Review Process For TWA Flight Center Hotel at JFK Airport

The TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport has been out of commission for 14 years, but if all goes according to plan, it will welcome a new slew of visitors starting in just a few years. MCR Development is planning to redevelop the landmarked 1962 Eero Saarinen building into the TWA Flight Center Hotel. It got approval from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in September, but yesterday announced that it is commencing the city’s Uniform Land Use Review Procedure, or ULURP.
