New Look for 300 Kenmore Road in Douglaston, Queens

New single-family homes are fairly uncommon in New York City, which makes the suburban qualities of 300 Kenmore Road somewhat unusual compared to what we usually see. Developers are proposing the two-story building in Douglaston, Queen, one of the more affluent low-rise residential neighborhoods in the city. The area was declared a New York City Historic District in 2004. T.F. Cusanelli and Filletti Architects are responsible for the design.

Excavation Wraps for Foster + Partners’ 50 Hudson Yards as Foundation Work Begins

Excavation at 50 Hudson Yards is nearing completion, and thanks to an aerial by Archartdescon, we can see that foundation work has also now commenced. Construction is advancing with incredible speed, and most of the site has been cleared since YIMBY’s last report in November. The pace isn’t too surprising when one considers the several excavators operating simultaneously. Related Companies is responsible for the Hudson Yards development.

Updated Design Revealed For 83 Humboldt Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Today, YIMBY has a new look for 83 Humboldt Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The building will be shifting away from its original brushed aluminum and wood paneling. The facade will include masonry between floor-to-ceiling windows of various widths, for a seemingly randomized façade pattern. Eight light fixtures on the edge of the building add an unusual flare. Beam Group is responsible for the design.
