Permits have been filed for a 20-story mixed-use building at 175 3rd Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Located between the Gowanus Canal and Third Avenue, the lot is within walking distance of the Carroll Street subway station, serviced by the F and G trains. Thomas Lavin is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 265-foot-tall development will yield 647,354 square feet, with 509,454 square feet designated for residential space and 137,900 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 375 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,358 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have three loading berths and 101 enclosed parking spaces.

Bjarke Ingels Group Architecture is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  2. hold on. 421a is expiring. how are they going to build rentals with affordable housing but without a real estate tax exemption?
