Exterior work is shaping up on 200 Montague Street, a 20-story residential building in the Borough Hall Skyscraper Historic District of Brooklyn Heights. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle with James M. Patterson of Ancora Engineering and developed by Midtown Equities, the 140,700-square-foot structure will yield 121 rental units between Court and Clinton Streets, just to the west of Columbus Park. Cauldwell Wingate is the general contractor, and M.N.S. Real Estate NYC is marketing the project for Aurora Capital Associates.

Since our last update in May, the reinforced concrete superstructure has topped out and most of the windows have been installed on the main elevation.

The bronze-colored metal work depicted in renderings has yet to go up, but should begin to occur in the coming months. Additional dark blue banners bearing the name of the building and the main website are now displayed on the sidewalk scaffolding.

Below are elevation renderings that show how 200 Montague Street respectfully adheres to the gradual procession of setbacks of the structures lining Montague Street, as well as the breakdown of exterior elements being implemented in the fenestration.

Beyer Blinder Belle’s design replaces a four-story bank building. 200 Montague Street will contain ground-floor and cellar retail space, rental units residing on the second floor to the 20th level, and amenities including a landscaped outdoor rooftop terrace, private rear yard terraces, fitness and yoga rooms, a residential lounge space, a children’s playroom, general and bicycle storage, a communal laundry room, and a pet washing station. Three subway options are located nearby: the Court Street station to the west servicing the R train, the Borough Hall station at the eastern end of Montague Street with access to the 2 and 3 trains, and the 4 and 5 trains at the Borough Hall station to the southeast along Joralemon Street.

200 Montague Street is slated for completion next spring, as noted on the construction board.
